About the hall


The hall consists of 4 spaces:

  • One main hall accessible via double doors with toilets at the entrance and a single-door side entrance, having a raised performance stage and superb quality floor suitable for dancing.
  • A room at the back of the stage, with access onto the stage, partioning, and serving hatch from the kitchen.
  • A smaller meeting room, separate from the other rooms, accessible via the corridor.
  • A large, fully-equipped kitchen.

FACILITIES THAT ARE PROVIDED


The Management Committee, has, over the years, sought to provide hirers with equipment that could prove useful during the hire period.

There are 13 long tables and 18 smaller square tables (+2 more kept by the stage) for use. They are stored in the store room. There are 3 more long tables in the backroom. Please wipe down the tables after use and return to the store room. Please do not drag the tables across the floor. 

There are 100 chairs for use. Some are located in the back room and meeting room. The majority are stored in the store room in stacks of 6. Please use the trolley to remove the chairs - do not drag them across the floor.

There are blackout blinds and curtains. The curtains are very helpful for creating a warm atmosphere and reducing echo. Please return the curtains and blinds to the way you found them at the end of the hire.

The soundsystem consists of a handheld radio mic and lapel radio mic, amplifier, hearing aid loop and mixing desk. If you would like to be shown how to use this system please let us know when you make your booking. Please return all settings after use.

In the kitchen there is a toaster, microwave, fridge and gas cooker. There are two hot water boilers for the ease of making and serving teas and coffees - please allow sufficient time for these to reach operating temperature. There is also a supply of cups and saucers, mugs, plates, glasses, and cutlery.

The first aid equipment is located in the back room and the kitchen. If there is an accident, please complete the accident book in the backroom as per the instructions.


The width of the hall is 7.9m (25ft), the length of the hall is 15.9m (up to the stage) (52ft), the height clearance is ???? (to the ceiling fans). The stage size is 6.9m (22.6ft) wide x 3.3m (10.8ft) from backstage to front stage. 

The width of the back room is 4.2m (13ft), the length of the room is 4.9m (16ft) up to the dividers, 2.9 (9ft) from the dividers to the serving hatch, giving a total length without dividers of 7.8m (25ft). Ther is rear access to the stage from here.

The width of the small room is 4.2m (13ft), the length of the room is 4.2m (13ft). There are 2 whiteboards mounted on opposite walls and many mains outlets around the perimeter.

Assistance dogs only allowed in the hall please. We are sorry we cannot accept bookings for dog training.

There is no smoking allowed in any part of the building. Smoking is allowed outside, under cover, where a cigarette bin is provided.
